Come along to our first Data Access and Discovery Webinar of 2023 as we explore some of the data services and expertise on offer from two Health Data Research Hubs: Discover-NOW and PIONEER.

The Health Data Research Hubs provide a rich toolkit of healthcare datasets, infrastructure and expertise that enable users to identify, access, understand and use data to improve people’s lives. We’ll be joined by:

The latest datasets discoverable on the Gateway

The HDR Innovation Gateway provides as a common entry point for users to discover and request access to UK health-related datasets. By listing information about each dataset, the Gateway helps researchers and innovators to find data that could be useful for their research.

We recently added four new dataset descriptions, including a pregnancy register added by CPRD and a student health and wellbeing survey from SAIL. 

Learn more about the UK's national TRE network

Trusted Research Environments (TREs) are highly secure computing environments that provide remote access to health data for approved research projects. 

Improving the national TRE network was a key objective of the COVID-19 Data and Connectivity National Core Study so that researchers could rapidly and securely access and analyse health data across the four nations of the UK.

Anyone can search and view datasets, collections and other resources with or without an account, but signing up to the Gateway means you can also:

• Send enquiries and apply to access datasets
• Comment on Gateway resources, including datasets 
• Add your own resources like tools and data uses, and create and build Collections
• Apply to access advanced search methods like Cohort Discovery
