HDR UK's annual conference 2024 focussed on the grand challenges in health data. Day 1 brought together members of the scientific community, industry, patients and the public, while Day 2 centred on the technology ecosystem with contributions from colleagues across the sector on how they're pushing the science of data infrastructure.

⚙️ Gateway Collection of the Month: ICODA

Collections are curated around a particular theme or topic and bring together related resources such as datasets, papers, tools and data uses listed on the Gateway.

In honour of the programme's latest publication in the Lancet Digital Health, our Collection of the Month for April is: International COVID-19 Data Alliance (ICODA) datasets.

This collection contains the metadata for the datasets used as part of the ICODA programme, along with contacts and access routes for re-use requests.

ICODA brought together an international alliance of partners to enable researchers worldwide, particularly those in low- and middle-income countries, to harness the power of health data in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The programme ran from July 2020 until October 2022 – its latest publication explores the challenges and lessons learned from ten international driver projects. 

🔗 HDR UK and GA4GH form a strategic partnership

Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) and the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) have announced a strategic partnership to expand existing open standards work and collaborate in the wider health data space. Together, both organisations plan to learn from global partners and promote adoption of health data related standards around the world.
